The Zero Poker

The once-successful entrepreneur Michael finds himself on the operating table after having been shot. It is only then that his unsuspecting wife Agnes realizes that Michael hadn’t been doing business in Switzerland but in Nigeria in an attempt to save his bankrupt company. To make matters worse, Agnes also finds herself in danger of losing her job because she becomes the scapegoat for numerous shady transactions at her bank. Still, some have it even worse – Carl and his pregnant wife are up to their necks in debt, young educated people are hopeless, and the judicial system is corrupted.
Humorous, but full of social criticism, the novel Zero Poker focuses on how an individual can, through hard work, audacity and a dash of luck, change a hopeless situation into a business opportunity. Its message screams: “DON’T GIVE UP!”
