Damijan Stepančič

Damijan Stepančič is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. Soon after completing his studies in painting, his attention was drawn to illustration. He came to realise that illustration off ers more possibilities for the exploration of diff erent media. Since then the focus of his creative work has been on illustrating for children. His great passion is also drawing comic books. He believes that it is very important that the words and the pictures in comic books work well together to satisfy demanding young readers. The book Anton's Circus by Peter Svetina, which he illustrated for the KUD Sodobnost International publisher, received the Best Designed Slovenian Book Award at the 2008 Slovenian Book Fair.
